Vili and I did our very first 5K this year! Why we still did it when the weather was horrible is beyond me! Lol but it was so much fun! Everyone else jumped ship when they woke up and saw the snow except Josie, who was the only other brave soul that came. Other than running a whole half block uphill with Josie, we walked the entire thing! Lol! I say that's better than nothing. We talked and laughed the entire time and even almost cut straight to the food before crossing the finish line, unintentionally. What can we say? We were huuuungry! This is the start to us being a little more active this year and more health conscious :) Seriously can't wait for the next one! We've got a few lined up for this summer!

Hidden Talents
More like buried talents! Wait for it.....I sang in sacrament meeting last Sunday! Yes, me! And we actually did a good job. Lol! I've never been a horrible singer but never a great one either. I sang with my sister here and there in youth and in a couple talent shows my early high school years but nothing since then. That was over 10 years ago! I don't even sing hymns in sacrament meeting. The most singing I do these days is with my kids or singing time in nursery. Not even in the shower. Lol
So you can imagine my shock when Hina asked me to sing a musical number with her. I honestly thought she was mistaken and had the wrong person. I kept telling her she had the wrong sister but she insisted that it was me she was prompted to ask. Remember that promptings post I wrote a little while ago? It's one of the reasons I actually sang. I remember doing the dishes a while back humming and thinking to myself, "why did I ever stop singing? I wiiiiish that somehow I could get some of that talent back." No lie.
I also wanted to push myself to do something out of my comfort zone. Granted, this was waaaay out of it but still. One day I'll have to encourage my kids to do things that will be uncomfortable for them but will help them grow, like this. What better way to teach than by example? They really were my motivation along with my cheerleaders, Vili and also my siblings! Thank you, Hina for listening to your promptings and for pushing me to do this. This opportunity was an answer to a teeny tiny prayer I didn't know was heard.
Best part of this experience was my kids seeing me up there, nervous wreck and all! Even better part is hearing Elina sing words from that song about our Savior randomly throughout the day, because of me :) I know this is all part of the Lord's work and there is some bigger purpose for Him making this happen. I just know it!

Wrap It Up
John and Melynda had a skinny wrap party the other week and all the kiddies got to play! Such a fun couple! We all went to the Provo singles ward together back when it first started and now we're all married with kids. I always think it'll be fun to show the kids who they played with when they were younger. If Provo wasn't such a temporary here-for-college type of city, they would all grow up together but I highly doubt it. Wishful thinking!
Zoo Trip
This year's zoo trip was so much fun! Losi, Dom, Molly, and Robin joined us this year adding extra laughs (pee your pants laughs) and extra memories. The kids are so much fun at the zoo at this age. They recognize different animals and can say their names and the noises they make so l know they loved it. It was fun to see their faces light up with excitement as we saw all the different animals. Some of their favorites this year were the monkeys, elephants, and the sea lions (new addition to the zoo this year). Talanoa is our little animal lover. We had to peel her away from the monkey exhibit because she didn't want to leave. They both cried to go back and see the monkeys while we were driving home. We might have to make another zoo trip in the summer!
